how does restylane work?
Restylane is a ‘filler’. It is a gel that contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It binds water, hydrating the skin, improving the tone, and keeping it firm and healthy looking. By absorbing water, it increases in volume and takes up space in the tissues to create a volume effect.
is restylane safe?
Restylane is produced from a non-animal source and is safe and natural.
Vitamin E supplements, St. John’s Wort, aspirin, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may increase bruising or bleeding after injection of hyaluronic acid. Therefore, patients should stop these drugs at least one week before the injections.
what is the procedure?
Restylane is injected with a very fine needle just under the skin.
is the procedure painful?
A topical anaesthetic cream can be applied before treatment, and we usually administer a local dental block so that the procedure is completely painless, but pain relief is not needed by all patients.
Immediately after a treatment, you can expect a slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and itching in the treated area. This discomfort is temporary and usually disappears in one to three days.
how long does the procedure take?
The initial consultation and planning takes about an hour. The procedure itself takes 15 to 20 minutes, depending on which area you are having treated. You can return to normal activities straight away.

how long will the effect last?
