Stretch Mark Treatment

Microneedling with the Dermaroller

Approximately 80% of all pregnant women have stretch marks. Stretch marks are caused by skin stretching during rapid growth in puberty and pregnancy. This over–stretching results in skin ruptures that finally transform into scars. Glucocorticoid hormones cause stretch marks by preventing the transformation of fibroblasts into collagen and elastin fibers.

New stretch marks appear like reddish to purple irregular lines and gradually fade to a white or silverish color, and they are permanent. They appear softer to the touch than the surrounding tissue.

So far the curing of stretch marks has been ‘very difficult’, and improvement with creams or laser is very limited.

Due to the fact that the Dermaroller’s Microneedling stimulates cell regeneration, and proliferation of fibroblasts, in such a dramatic way, several physicians started to use the Dermaroller to treat stretch marks in 2007. The results were beyond expectations and at a recent symposium Dr. Scalvini, of the Milano University in Italy, predicted that Dermarolling stretch marks will result in a success rate of 80% to 90%.

Still more evidence that Collagen-Induction-Therapy is one of the best choices to improve your skin’s appearance.

Additionally, there is NO RISK of pigment loss, even on darker skin.
